Didier Deschamps warns of the danger of Morocco: “He has a chance to reach the final”

The French team is still in the race to seek the two-time world championship after beating England (2-1) and advancing to the semifinals. After the commitment, the coach of ‘Les Bleus’, Didier Deschamps, highlighted the “collective force” and the “capacity of resistance” of his group and, likewise, warned of the danger of Morocco, his next rival.

“Few people could have expected Morocco in the World Cup semifinals, but if you look at what they have done, at the rivals they have beaten and only conceded one goal, it is not a surprise. He has options to reach the final. If they are here it is because of their merit, no one can deny it”said.

“It is a historic moment for them. At this point they are no longer a surprise. They have had a high-quality competition. You always have to give credit to the team that wins and qualifies”he pointed.

The French coach also stated: “England were a great team, because of what they did technically and the intensity they put into it. We have known how to resist, I think this team gives off great collective strength. Despite everything, we have given them two penalties and some fouls on the edge of the area. It is true that against a team like this it is difficult, but we have to improve”he pointed.

Deschamps was pleased to have met the minimum goal set for him by the president of his federation, but he did not want to say if that will determine his future. “Now we are going to savor this, there will be time to think about the future”, he indicated.

Finally, the 54-year-old coach made it clear that he is not satisfied with what has been achieved and wants more. “We are happy with what we have done, but we are not satisfied. The history of the defending champion is not very good in recent years. We are changing it, but there is still a way to go”he commented.
