Reynoso: “If Cueva and Zambrano go to the Libertadores semifinal with Alianza, it is growth”

Alianza Lima is the current two-time champion of Peruvian soccer and intends to achieve a third consecutive title, although it also has its sights on being a protagonist in the Copa Libertadores. In this sense, Christian Cueva and Carlos Zambrano, members of the Peruvian team, have been linked to the club and Juan Reynoso, coach of the ‘Blanquirroja’, gave his point of view.

In the first instance, the national coach assured that this possible transfer would not mean a drop in performance for the athletes. “The answer I can give is very subjective, because someone might think: coming to play in the Peruvian tournament is a setback”started the ‘Cabezón’ at a press conference.

Right away, the trainer explained how the analysis would drastically change: “But, if players of that level come to the local league and make Alianza Lima play a semifinal of the Copa Libertadores, it will surely be growth”.

“A lot has to do with the team that settles, what they compete and what they win. After that the evaluation will come”, added the strategist in the same line. Let’s remember that both Christian Cueva and Carlos Zambrano have been key players in the last period wearing the Peru shirt.

“They are ready-made players, who are sure to come and make a difference while at the club and the league. That they can return, make a difference and win things, will surely make the team continue to strengthen itself “sentenced Juan Reynoso on the subject.

It is worth mentioning that Cueva has a contract until June 30, 2025 with Al-Fateh of Saudi Arabia; while the ‘León’ Zambrano will end his relationship with Boca Juniors on December 31, 2022, but from Argentina they indicate that he will renew soon.
