Argentina-France: Argentine president ‘wishes all the best’ to Macron… ‘except Sunday’

The final between France and Argentina has already started at the highest peak of the two states. The two presidents Alberto Fernandez and Emmanuel Macron started the match quite amicably with a series of tweets.

“Dear friend @EmmanuelMacron, I am very attached to you and wish you all the best in the future. Except Sunday, wrote the head of the Argentine state. Argentina is my wonderful country and that is Latin America! Go sky and white! »

Alberto Fernandez was responding to a tweet from the President of France, who himself responded to the wishes of Brazil’s President-elect Lula, who started this phase of the three-way game, by tweeting “good luck on Sunday my friends.” , with no distinction or preference shown for France or Argentina.

“Thank you my friend @LulaOfficial,” Emmanuel Macron replied. And in the same message to the President of Argentina: “Dear @alferdez, some of us will have more luck … Some of us will see on Sunday. In all friendship… Go Les Bleus! »

Emmanuel Macron was present for the semi-final against Morocco on Wednesday and will be present again on Sunday. The Argentine president, for his part, indicated on Thursday that there was still “no decision” regarding Alberto Fernandez’s possible entry into the final.

“Football and politics are incompatible. We don’t want to mix it up, it depends on the citizens. The president has a good relationship with Macron and they exchanged, but no decision has been made,” presidential spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti said at a press briefing.

Alberto Fernandez’s predecessor, Mauricio Macri, President from 2015 to 2019, is based in Qatar, in particular as Executive President of the FIFA Foundation. He attended several matches, including Argentina’s shock loss to Saudi Arabia (1-2) in his first game. The Argentine press called him a “curse”. But then Albiceleste won all their matches and reached the final.
