World Cup: Bruno Le Maire denounces racist comments by Argentine fans on his social media

The situation is not improving. Five days after Argentina won the world title at the expense of France, the swearing continues. And again, on the other side of the Atlantic, troublemakers are indicated. After the Minister of Sports this time, the Minister of Economy and Finance has assumed responsibility and requires accountability.

For those who don’t speak Spanish, here’s an anthology of testimonials from Argentinian fans: “They (the Blues) play in France, but they’re all from Angola”; “Research (in imperative mode) the nationality of your players, clown”; “Without the Africans, how many do you (players) have? » ; “I warn you that all migrants are on your team”, and other caresses with racist overtones, already interviewed before the start of the competition.

What is FIFA doing? Bruno Le Maire angrily asked this Thursday on Sud Radio in response to numerous provocations not only from the Argentine players, whose goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made himself a cantor, but also from their unleashed supporters against Didier Deschamps’ people. Silence an international body can indeed raise questions, while the situation has almost become a matter of state.

This Friday, Sports Minister Amélie Oudea-Castera pointed to the “pathetic” nature and “inelegance” of the Albiceleste players. In an interview with Ouest-France, FFF President Noel Le Grae, for his part, indicated that he wrote a letter to the Argentine federation after the bullying and provocation of the world champions against the Blues and, in particular, Kylian Mbappe.

“This violence has no place in sport, anywhere else,” wrote Bruno Le Maire on Twitter. The minister had already warned the previous day that “sport is fair play, it is respect for others, it is respect for those who have lost, we are not going to add insult to disappointment.” The Argentine fans are handling it very well.
