Cristiano Ronaldo joined the farewells to Pele after the confirmation of the death of the Brazilian soccer star this Thursday in Sao Paulo, at the age of 82 after a long battle against cancer. On social networks, the Portuguese dedicated heartfelt words to ‘O Rei’ and expressed pain at his death.
“A mere ‘goodbye’ to the eternal King Pelé will never be enough to express the pain that currently overwhelms the entire world of football. An inspiration for so many millions, a reference from yesterday, today, forever,” declared CR7 after offering his “condolences to all of Brazil, and in particular to the family of Mr. Edson Arantes do Nascimento” (Pelé).

Pelé passed away this Thursday at the age of 82 after fighting cancer for more than a year, announced one of his daughters.
