Mercato: Monegasque Badiashile signed a contract with Chelsea for 7 and a half years

It is clear that Chelsea want to work with Benoît Badiachille for the long term. The London club has announced the signing of the now ex-Central defender of Monaco for seven and a half years, until 2030. The transfer fee was not disclosed, but according to The Athletic, the Blues were willing to shell out nearly €40 million for the services of the French footballer.

Badiaxile is leaving his training club, with whom he has played 135 games, three months after his debut in the French national team shirt. A regular Espoirs player, he was invited by Didier Deschamps at the end of September and was eligible for two starts against Austria (2-0) and Denmark (0-2). On the other hand, the coach preferred Axel Disasi to him for the World Cup in Qatar.

“I’m very happy to be here at Chelsea,” he told the club’s website. I am very happy to start playing for this club. I can’t wait to see the fans and start playing in the best league in the world. “The central defender is actually inviting himself to the top league, where the Londoners occupy only tenth position.

At the Blues, the southpaw will face strong competition from Kalidou Koulibaly, Thiago Silva or Wesley Fofana when the former Stephanois is available again. Arriving for the season, Graham Potter should appreciate Badyashiel’s ability to break lines on the restart. The England manager loves it when his teams miss the mark. However, after a promising start at Chelsea, the formula is not yet working.
