Gambardella Cup: PSG break out of the 32nd final

According to a cruel scenario, the Parisians leave Coupe Gambardella, Coupe de France for the under-19 team. For the youngsters at PSG’s training centre, however, things started off great. At the end of an excellent collective action, Kamil Besnoula gives the advantage to his team from the 7th minute.

It was a poorly controlled entry by Parisian goalkeeper Desty Nkunku who then allowed Lille to convert a penalty in the 26th minute to equalize. Ironically, it was thanks to Thomas Cordier’s goal against his team that the Mastiffs regained control in the second half (61st, 2-1).

Captain Husni was not enough

But Paris Saint-Germain finds hope in just a few minutes. In 83rd place, Iles Husni equalized, again thanks to a great collective moment that ended at close range (2:2). The lead captain, however, had been on the Châteauroux lawn in a Coupe de France with the professionals just three days before.

This late goal was not enough to send both teams to penalties. At the end of stoppage time, another foul by goalkeeper Desti Nkunku gave Losk a match point penalty, converted by Hakim Sahabo after seven minutes of stoppage time (2-3).

This is a real disappointment for the Parisian Titis, who leaves the Gambardella Cup in the 32nd final, a year after being eliminated in the 16th final in 2022 against Le Havre.
