Ligue 1: Lance avoids Auxerre’s trap and clings to PSG

Lance is breathing again. After a resounding 3-1 win over PSG and a spectacular 2-2 draw against Strasbourg, Fofana’s teammates narrowly beat Auxerre this Saturday on the 19th day of Ligue 1 (1-0) . With this success, Lensois finished in second place, three points behind PSG and three distances ahead of Marseille, who are one game short.

What should you remember

In a close and sluggish encounter, Frank Eze’s men struggled to create chances (zero shots on target in 30 minutes) against Auxerrois, who was tucked in defense and played against. Lençois had very fruitless ball possession in their camp and could open the scoring with Openda’s incredible miss at the half-hour mark (31st) alone in front of an empty cage from a Przemysław Frankowski corner kick.

After two missed opportunities for Auxerre, first from M’Baye Niang (49th), then from Gaultier Hein (52nd), Lance opened the scoring with a dubious penalty converted by Przemysław Frankowski. Auxerrois, reduced to 10 after the elimination of Isaac Touré (65th), who was honored with his first tenure, failed to return to score.

Player: Przemysław Frankowski

He is undoubtedly the man of the match. A very restless Lensois piston made AJA’s defense go cold. He often tumbled on his right side at the addresses of centers that did not find anyone. Finally, he was rewarded for his efforts by scoring his second Ligue 1 goal of the season from a penalty kick. He could even have given a decisive pass to Sotoka at the end of the match, but Janvier interfered with his foot (80th) before giving way to Julien Le Cardinal in the 90th minute to receive a standing ovation from the fans present at Bollaert.

Lens have won their last ten Ligue 1 matches at the Ballaert-Delelys stadium. This is the best series in its entire history in the elite.
