Summary. On April 13, 2019, against the advice of her country’s authorities, Sadaf Khadem became the first Iranian to win an official boxing match in Rouen. It was in this city of Charente-Maritime that this 28-year-old young woman left her luggage four years ago to be able to freely practice boxing, a sport that is banned for women in Iran.

Although her story has spread all over the world, she cannot return to her family in Tehran, which is threatened by the Iranian regime. Today, Sadaf Khadem has rebuilt her life in France and has been able to find housing thanks to the Royan town hall. She can also count on the help of her boxing club to try and reach her goal of representing France in the 2024 Olympics.

For Source Code, Sadaf Khadem tells his story in front of the microphone of Ambre Rosal.
