Arrival of the fifth : 13 – 4 – 12 – 3 – 5
This mid-week quinte with the racecourse Pau (Pyrenees-Atlantiques) as the setting, in which sixteen runners cleared the 3800 meters barriers. Quickly noticed in the leading group, Inside Montlyou (#13) freed his opponents in the final turn and showed himself with a comfortable lead after the jump of the fourteenth and final difficulty. Despite the seductive end of his stablemate’s race, norman hole (No. 4), he retained a short neckline in front of the counter and thus offers the first straight to his partner, Charlotte Pritchard, a native of Wales.
Behind the two citizens of Ervan Grall, who had won their eighth victory since the beginning of the meeting in Po, Lucky (No. 12) takes a clear third place, despite a big error on the course, and is easily ahead of Balladin of Mesk (n°3), permanent appearance. Fifth is being completed Harry Conti (No. 15), which confirms its excellent current form.
Great Tykes (#1), picnic (#7) Chichi de la Vega (#8), Sir Becquile (#9) and Trip to Singapore (#10) was a disappointment and was stopped long before the final turn.
