With the Six Nations behind us, attention will turn to the Rugby World Cup later this year.

Ireland confirmed their title as World Cup favorites by winning the Grand Slam, a result of New Zealand’s impressive run of victories last year.

The Six Nations has been a sobering affair for England under the new leadership of Steve Borthwick, who seems miles away from the team that finished second in South Africa in Japan four years ago.

Scotland are bolstered by their sixth-place finish in the Six Nations, while Warren Gatland face a difficult task in restoring Wales’ competitiveness after just one victory over Italy.

Who organizes the Rugby World Cup?

France will host the 2023 Rugby World Cup after winning the tournament in a secret ballot by the World Rugby Council in London in November 2017.

France hosted the vast majority of the 2007 edition’s matches, including the final, and also shared visiting responsibilities with their home nation in 1991 and 1999.

The legendary Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris, will host the opening match between France and New Zealand as well as the final.

Who will England and the other home countries play against in the Rugby World Cup?

England were drawn in Group D alongside Japan, Argentina, Samoa and Chile.

Ireland and Scotland are placed together in Group B, while South Africa, Tonga and Romania complete the group.

Meanwhile, Wales will meet Australia, Fiji, Georgia and Portugal in Pool C.

The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarter-finals.

The ten teams from Pot A and B are in the first half of the draw, the ten teams from Pot C and D form the other half.
