Victor Osimhen, top target of Manchester United and Chelsea, has indicated that he would like to stay at Napoli.

Osimhen has been one of the best strikers in the world this season. He scored 25 goals in 30 games and helped Napoli top the table with 17 points and came close to winning the Serie A title.

The Italian club have also reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time, although their chances of reaching the final have dwindled after a 1-0 defeat to AC Milan in the first leg last week.

The Nigerian striker has been at the heart of their success, amassing many admirers from across Europe, including United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG.

The 24-year-old has been cautious about his future in recent months. He hinted that he would like to play in the Premier League, but also firmly reiterated his commitment to Napoli, with whom he has a contract until 2025.

Napoli also has no plans to sell his talisman, although some reports claim they would be reluctant to accept offers over €100 million.

However, it looks like they have nothing to worry about – at least this summer – as Osimhen declares his love for his current club and expresses his intention to leave now.

“It was difficult for me to fulfill my dream of becoming a professional footballer and now we are close to winning for the first time,” he told Italian TV show TG5.

“I’m at a great club and my career is constantly evolving. I’m already at one of the biggest clubs and I couldn’t ask for more. Forza Napoli always!

“We are close to our goal and can’t wait to make our dream come true. The players always believed, we always believed that we could do something extraordinary, even if no one else believed.

“The affection of the city is extraordinary, I have never received so much love. I can’t wait to celebrate with them in the stadium.”

These comments could prompt United to shift their focus more towards the signing of Harry Kane as England are keen to leave Tottenham this summer.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have been linked with many different forwards, not least Joao Felix, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge.
