Liga MX 2023 repechage: what it is, when and how to play

What is the Liga MX repechage?

It is a format in which the teams that failed to finish among the first four positions in the regular season have a new chance to access the Liguilla.

What teams participate in the playoffs?

The clubs that are located between fifth and twelfth place dispute the playoffs. That is, eight in total.

How is the repechage played?

Fifth place faces twelfth; the sixth to the eleventh; the seventh against the tenth and the eighth is measured against the ninth.

They will be unique matches, at the home of the club that has the best position in the standings. In case there is a tie in regular time, the winner will be defined in the penalty shootout.
