Invincible Route: new Nike campaign will fix holes in sidewalks for the runner community

The popularity of running in recent years has grown significantly. In Lima, the streets are filled daily by thousands of runners looking to lead a healthier life and even compete. However, the conditions of the sidewalks in some of the runners’ favorite areas are not in optimal conditions, which can be dangerous for athletes who pass by daily.

Holes in sidewalks and trails can present a significant hazard to runners. In addition to immediate risks such as injury, these holes can also cause long-term effects on people’s health. “Holes in sidewalks and trails can be particularly dangerous for runners who can trip over them and sustain serious injury. Ankle sprains are a common injury in runners who find holes along the way, they can be very painful and lead to a long recovery”, says Morayma Segura, Nike Running Head Coach.

In that sense, reaffirming its mission to offer inspiration and innovation to all athletes* in the world (*if you have a body, you are an athlete), and in the framework of the launch of its latest running shoes, Nike decided to leave a legacy for the runner community of Lima, so that people can run without fear of suffering a fall or injury caused by holes. For this reason, in alliance with the Municipality of Barranco, one of the districts most visited by runners from Lima, the brand announced today that it will cover the holes in part of this district with cement.

All runners and people who pass through the area between May 6 and 14 will be able to see that these holes have been covered with a soft foam that simulates Zoom X technology, a material used in the Invincible 3 running shoes. On May 17 , the Barranco district will wake up to the legacy of Nike and will be able to see that these holes have been patched with cement. Likewise, the brand is no stranger to the fact that there are also these types of obstacles in other areas frequented by runner communities. For this reason, it will launch a survey through social networks, in which runners will be able to choose in which of these places they want the brand to leave its legacy and it will also fix the most dangerous holes in the winning area, which can be seen on May 21th.

About the Invincible 3
