The Portuguese striker celebrated his thirteenth goal since he came to Saudi football after leaving Manchester United. He added another from the penalty spot, the seventh, which served to start Al-Nassr’s path to victory. They made it 0-1 in the first half and Talisca closed the scoring in the second to overcome a team that is fighting to finish in the top ten of the standings.
Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Anderson Talisca saw Al-Nassr beat Al Ta’ee 2-0 to move within three points of Saudi Arabian League leaders Al-Ittihad, who stumbled to draw with Al-Hilal (2-2).
Time was running out for Cristiano Ronaldo and his team, who may be left out of the Asian Champions League if they fail to win the League. This Tuesday, Al-Hilal gave Al-Nassr a cable with a goal in added time that left the difference between the two candidates at three points with nine left in play.
At the same time, the leaders, Al-Ittihad, visited the fourth-placed team and drew 2-2 with a pair of goals in the first half hour from Brazilian Igor Coronado and Ahmed Bamsaud. On the stroke of halftime, Musab Al Juwayr took advantage of an assist from André Carrillo to close the gap and then, in the 96th minute, Michael equalized on the buzzer. To finish the season, Al-Nassr will have to face Al-Shabab, Al- Ettifaq and Al-Fateh, while Al-Ittihad will close the Saudi League against Al-Batin, Al-Feiha and Al-Ta’ee.
