Could James Rodríguez return to South American football? This is the last thing he said

Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez He pointed out this Wednesday that he has his sights set on continuing to play in European football and is waiting for the offers that may come his way.

“I think something good is going to come out in Europe,” Rodríguez said in an interview with Noticias RCN, in which he assured that he feels “physically well” and that he wants to be in a club that allows him to “play every three days.”

Rodríguez, who left Olympiacos in April and since then has been without a club, assured that in the squad that opens the doors for him he will be able to “give more” because he has “talent and quality.”

Likewise, the scorer of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil stated that, although he does not have it planned at the moment, he would not rule out the possibility of playing in Colombian soccer, specifically for Deportes Tolima.

“I had a bad time watching the World Cup in Qatar,” revealed Rodríguez, who expressed his dissatisfaction when observing some teams that did not show a good level in the international competition.

However, he assumed that the coffee team also had flaws, especially in the lack of scoring efficiency, despite the talent the team had in the World Cup Qualifiers in Qatar.

The former player of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich highlighted that the qualifiers for the Brazil and Russia world cups were practically a formality for Colombia due to the high level of play and the forceful goalscoring that the team demonstrated in each match.

On the other hand, he explained that the road to Qatar was more complicated due to changes in the coaching staff and the absence of important players in several games, including himself.

Regarding the 6-1 loss to Ecuador on November 17, 2020, Rodríguez denied rumors of disputes with then-Colombia coach Carlos Queiroz.

“How could we want to lose by that score to hurt someone? We are winners and we always seek victory, ”she emphasized.

He also stated that he had an excellent relationship with the Portuguese strategist and that the heavy loss was simply a hard blow for everyone.

The midfielder assured that he never had any problems with any of his teammates and that, although it is strange for him to be on the bench, he is always willing to support his teammates, even if he wants to be on the pitch to contribute to the team.

James pointed out that although it is difficult to participate in friendlies because his season has ended and other players are still in competition, he is in optimal physical condition for the start of the World Cup Qualifiers in Mexico, the United States and Canada in September.
