Christophe Galtier was also expected, but Rudy Garcia won the jackpot. The former manager of, among others, OM, OL and Roma (between 2013 and 2016), was selected this Thursday by Napoli to take over the Italian champions soon. The club announced this in the evening in his Twitter account.

“I am happy to announce that after meeting him over the past ten days, Mr. Rudi Garcia will become the new manager of Napoli. Welcome and good luck to him! Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis made the announcement on social media.

In search of a successor to Luciano Spalletti, who left for the historic national title, Naples reduced their shortlist with French names, including Christophe Galtier, who left PSG, and Bruno Genesio, the current coach of Sade Renne. Rudi Garcia has been free since his April departure from Al Nasr after results were deemed disappointing.
