‘We don’t want a riot’: Kylian Mbappe secretly trains in a small town in Vaucluse

Thor welcomes one of France’s most famous men, but doesn’t want to talk about it. However, Kylian Mbappé performed well at least on Monday late afternoon in this city of nearly 9,000 Vaucluse, between Avignon and L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. The PSG striker, still on holiday and accompanied by several relatives, including his father, was training on the lawn of the Roger-Fory municipal stadium around 19:00, probably to escape the intense Provencal heat of the day.

A private lesson scheduled for the same day that some of the Parisian workers resumed their studies at the new center in Poissy (Yvelines). As an international, the 2018 world champion gets an extra week off and must find partners on the 17th, but the 24-year-old, whose future at the club is in question following his public refusal to extend his contract over the summer, did not wait until that date to prepare your body for the coming season.

In a video taken on the sly by a resident of Thor, Kylian Mbappe can be seen making small jumps and running around in the middle of the spikes placed on the turf of the stadium. The footage, broadcast on social media, made his presence at the scene public. Because the mayor’s office of Thor, the owner of this stadium, refuses to raise a fuss about the arrival of someone who went to Cameroon last week, where the match had to be canceled for security reasons.

“I’m not making any comments,” Mayor Yves Bayon de Noyer, who joined late Wednesday morning, told Parisian-Today in France. “We don’t want any turmoil surrounding his arrival, this should remain as secretive as possible,” a local source said.

Locked stadium for his arrival

The local football club had nothing to do with the arrival of the star. Rugby league alumni who normally occupy the Roger Fory stadium have been evacuated from a facility where two witnesses claim to have met with his younger brother Ethan Mbappe late last week. The security of the premises is provided by gendarme patrols. “We confirm the occasional presence of members of the Vaucluse gendarmerie group to guard the vicinity of the Thor stadium as part of Kylian Mbappe’s purely private stay in the department,” the prefecture confirms to the Parisian.

No part of the fence, also guarded by the municipal police, can scare off the curious, like some of the young people present on Wednesday morning who would like to approach the Parisian star. And this is until Sunday, July 16, inclusive, explains a source involved in Thor’s sports life. But for now, those in the know want to keep Kylian Mbappe’s exact program a secret.
