The VAR audios of the expulsion of Alex Valera are revealed: “He hits with his blocks and straight leg” | VIDEO

When the Universitario de Deportes fan began to sign the draw at the Neo Química Arena against Cortinthians, for the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana playoff, a setback made him stand up and nervous again in front of the television. In the 73rd minute of the match, Alex Valera was sent off after a hard tackle on Bruno Méndez.

Initially, the referee Jesús Valenzuela had decreed that ‘Valegol’ only be reprimanded with the yellow card; however, the VAR reviewed the play and invited him to see it on the screens.

After a couple of minutes in front of the screens, the head judge decided to change his initial decision. Player number 20 would be sent off and Universitario would be left with one less until the end of the game.

From here everything would collapse for the ‘merengue’ team, just six minutes later the only goal of the game would come from Felipe Augusto’s boots. Let’s remember that the Universitario striker will not be able to be present in the second leg at the Monumental Stadium.
