Real PSG: Mbappe scores and overtakes Zlatan

A straight pass to a conclusion as brilliant as the player behind it. Kylian Mbappé continues to write his story in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt. Less than 45 minutes later, the No. 7 Parisian hit Real Madrid’s goal again in the Champions League play-offs. With a perfect one-touch deflection from Neymar to launch Mbappe’s rocket, the world champion pinned David Alaba, the last defender, and then landed a powerful right hand into the tight corner of Thibault Courtois (40th). Radar even spotted the Paris striker’s 34kph race.

The relationship between “Ney” and the evening forward does not date back to today. Their duet is unique. Since the partnership began, the two players have exchanged 12 assists, at least five more than any other duo in the same period.

Two goals not counted

Thus, this goal allows Kylian Mbappe to increase his total number of achievements under the Parisian tunic to 157, one goal more than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and become the second top scorer in the history of Paris Saint-Germain. But the 23-year-old striker’s crazy stats don’t end there, as it’s also Mbappe’s 19th Champions League goal in his last 13 games in the competition. And since last season, he has scored 8 goals in C1 knockout matches.

If only by the end of the first period the French permanently deceived the Madrid goalkeeper, then the first warning set the tone six minutes earlier. When Nuno Mendes served the ball from behind, Kylian Mbappe took the ball away with one touch and found himself at the level of Courtois’s left post. A famous goal, but also quickly abandoned due to offside a few millimeters from the Parisian side at the beginning of the game.

Once again, as in every C1 match since the start of the season, Kylian Mbappé has played a decisive role and can further increase his goals. Moreover, from the 53rd minute for the second time they refused to take a goal for a justified offside. But for the third time that evening, he cheats Courtois, which proves that he has the upper hand over the Belgian goalkeeper.
