The Technical Unit for Minors (UTM) of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) began this week the “Visorias de Selecciones Regionales 2023” Tournament in order to attract talent throughout the country. Teams representing the 25 regions will participate in this competition.
As explained Jose Guillermo del Solardirector of the UTM, the project seeks to find new players born between the years 2008-2009 to be part of the Under-15 categories.
“We set ourselves the objective of implementing a very exhaustive scouting process through the Recruitment and Development Centersand the training of coaches in all regions, and thus discover young people who at some point may be part of La Bicolor ”, he pointed out.
During the first stage of the tournament, the 25 delegations will be divided into 5 zones and will play on the following dates: Zone A – Chiclayo Headquarters (Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Amazonas) from August 7 to 9; Zone B – Nuevo Chimbote Headquarters (Lima, Callao, Loreto, Áncash, La Libertad) from August 11 to 13; Zone C – Huánuco Headquarters (Ucayali, Pasco, Huánuco, Junín, San Martin) from August 16 to 18; Zone D – Ica Headquarters (Ica, Ayacucho, Apurímac, Huancavelica, Arequipa) from August 22 to 24; Zone E – Tacna Headquarters (Madre de Dios, Puno, Cusco, Tacna, Moquegua) from August 28 to 30.

Of these 25 teams, the Technical Unit for Minors (UTM) it will form five macro-regional teams among which the final of the tournament will be decided in September.
“We want children and young people from every corner of the country to be interested in practicing this sport, not only so that the competitive level continues to rise, but also because of the values that football brings to them on and off the pitch”pointed Guillermo Echevarría, Director of Development of the FPFadding that they continue working to massify and decentralize soccer through tournaments and competitions.
Finally, Guillermo del Solar highlighted that the most outstanding players of the tournament “Regional Selection Visories 2023” they will be summoned to ‘La Bicolor’ to compete in the South American U-15 tournament in Bolivia from November 17 to December 3.
