Franco Vidal Moralesmayor of Ate, proposed temporarily closing the monumental stadium If the club does not take preventive measures to avoid situations of violence at the end of each match both in the League 1 Betsson, as in the Women’s League. This is due to complaints from residents of the district who do not tolerate the disturbances generated by some fans.

Given this position, the cream team sent a statement in which it regrets what the mayor declared and points out that they have the documentation in order and comply with what is indicated by the law that sanctions violence during sporting events.

Our institution regrets the statements made by the mayor of AteFranco Vidal, to a media outlet, where he slips the possibility of a possible closure of the Monumental U Marathon stadium”, reads the statement. The club adds that It has all the documentation in order and fully compliesin all extremes, with what is indicated by Law No. 30037 – Law that prevents and punishes violence in sporting events”.

It also indicates that prior to each game participate in “technical meetings in which the safety plan for each sporting event is delimited and detailed”. Likewise, it highlights that those who attend said meetings are the representatives of the Public Ministry; of the Interior Government Directorate of MINTER; the IPD Sports Safety Department; of the Municipality of Lima; and the local club. He adds that “none of them has been attended by the mayor of Ate or any representative of that municipality.”

“For this reason, it is surprising that the mayor has not shown interest throughout 2023 in said meetings and, on the contrary, decides to provide a public statement showing late concern for citizen security”mentions.

They also stress that “Safety on public roads falls under the authority of a district and the PNP, it does not correspond to sports institutions”. Finally, the cream club indicates that it will continue working “to improve the experience of attending the stadium” and they will be open to dialogue with all the authorities linked to these events.
