The Ferro Stadium in Buenos Aires suffered a collapse during construction

An incident that surprised in Argentina, but that did not present any dangerous situation. Part of the new grandstand of the Estadio de Ferro Carril Oeste suffered a collapse in the middle of construction. The event occurred in the institution of Caballito, where the field of the club that plays in the First National is located and is being remodeled.

Part of the work that was already being advanced collapsed. There were five workers at the scene and they all managed to leave the area on time, only one of those present suffered minor injuries; however, soon after, firefighters entered to help defuse the situation.

In addition to ambulances and firefighters, police personnel attended the scene. The leader informed the press that “A section of wood fell on Avellaneda street that was being filled with concrete and, luckily, there was nothing to lament other than a slight injury that has already been treated.”

The expansion project of the Club Ferro Carril Oeste stadium, “Ricardo Etcheverri” has a long-term projection. It will be divided into six stages and it is intended to have a capacity for 27 thousand people.

The first two stages include the new West End, after which the construction of the new North Plateau will have to begin, which will have three floors with ten boxes each. The fourth part will be the visitor area that consists of the expansion of the East Head.

The fifth stage corresponds to the expansion of the South Plateau and the last will be the construction of the roof at the head of a multisport gym, confectionery and offices; as well as the new facade and new entrances on Avellaneda street.
