The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) announced this Sunday the opening of an investigation for racism against Francisco Melgar, coach of the Peruvian under 20 Futsal team, who has been the subject of criticism for misguided comments against Denilson Zegarra, one of his directed.
“The FPF rejects any act of racism or discrimination on and off the fields. In that sense, an internal investigation is already underway – through the Ethics and Integrity area – into what happened within the framework of the participation of the under 20 futsal team in the South American of that category,” reported the organism.
The Federation “will collect the versions and positions of coach Francisco Melgar and player Denilson Zegarra, involved in the events that occurred.
“The results of this investigation will be made known in due course,” states the FPF statement.
