League 1 Betsson | Universitario presented Antonio García Pye as an external advisor to the sports management

Antonio García Pye He worked for many years in the Peruvian Football Federation, he is a man of the national team, but also linked to a traditional club in our country, University of Sports.

After 14 years away from the merengue institution, García Pye is once again part of the club and this time as an external advisor to the sports management.

At a press conference, led by temporary administrator Jean Ferrari and sports director Manuel Barreto, his incorporation was announced and he was very precise about his duties.

“My contribution will be based on sports administration. In these three months I will make a diagnosis and, based on the information collected, propose proposals and an operational plan for 2024,” said García Pye.

“Breaking the market can help win the national title, but at the cost of damaging the immediate future of the club. I will propose burying two words from our dictionary: “whatever.” Champion whatever, bring a player whatever. “That is irresponsible,” he added.

On the other hand, he had words of praise for the current Universitario coach, the Uruguayan Jorge Fossati.

“The technical command was one of the things that excited me, you don’t get a person like him that easily, it would be crazy to waste it,” he concluded.
