Boris Neveu, already silver medalist at the World Championships two weeks earlier, confirmed his current excellent form by winning the final kayak cross-country race of the World Cup season in the Vers-sur-Marne pool. This is the Olympic venue for the event.
World champion in slalom K1 (kayak) in 2014 and again in 2021, Neve finished 7th at the most recent Olympic Games in Tokyo. He is competing for the Olympic Games in Paris. The French Federation of Canoe Kayaks (FFCK) is due to announce its Olympic roster on Thursday. Neve will meet little prodigy Titouan Castric, 19, who the day before won the World Cup slalom event in the same pool of Vers-sur-Marne.
A very delicate decision, since a country cannot have more than one slalom quota. One of those selected in the C1 (canoe) or K1 (kayak) category will enter the kayak cross, where the second qualifying place can be won by three countries during the competition in June.
