The coach of the Peruvian team, Juan Reynosopointed out that, through MRIs, the injuries of the footballers were confirmed Renato Tapia and Alexander Callens.
Meanwhile, he ruled out that the aforementioned players will be called off and hopes that they will recover for the match against Argentina for the fourth round of the Qualifiers.
“I was surprised by how much there has been speculation about Tapia and Callens. They both arrived felt. We confirmed it with an MRI and we are waiting for them to have rehabilitation sessions,” stated Reynoso.
“The fact of staying in Lima guarantees us 8 or 10 rehabilitation sessions, traveling to Chile, those rehabilitation sessions would be 3 or 4, nothing more,” he added.
Peru and Chile will face each other this Thursday from 7:00 pm (Peruvian time) for the third date of the 2026 South American Qualifiers.
