Paolo Guerrero He showed his face after Peru’s defeat against Chile (2-0) in the match played on Thursday in Santiago for the third date of the Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The national forward declared for the Movistar Deportes channel after the end of the match, and was gentle in acknowledging that the national team did not make its best presentation in the southern territory.
“We don’t play, we never meet. We lost the ball a lot and if you saw Chile, they played with one touch and it was like that. The field didn’t help much and we couldn’t play our game, so we had to play with one touch, we lost the field, they counterattacked us and that’s how they played their football,” declared the ‘Predator’.

Despite the adverse result, Guerrero considered that the team can make better presentations in the following qualifying matches.
“We have shown in other games how Peru plays, but today we did not play, we did not meet at any time. “We lost the ball a lot, in the second half we improved but they were already 1-0 up, a game to forget,” he added.
With the defeat against Chile, the bicolor squad occupies ninth place in the standings with only 1 point.
On the next date, to be played on Tuesday, October 17, it will be home against Argentina.
