Former Manchester United, Manchester City and West Ham star Carlos Tevez suffered a 10-stitch wound after fainting and being hit in the head, according to reports from Argentina.

The 39-year-old recently entered the world of management after an excellent playing career and is currently in charge of Argentinian club Club Atletico Independiente.

It has been reported that Tevez fell in the bathroom of his home – but has since been released from hospital – and was reunited with his Independiente team ahead of the Primera Division match against Club Atletico Barracas Central.

Tevez’s assistant coach was forced to train with Independiente after the incident on Wednesday, but the former striker is now back in the dugout.

Tevez ended his playing career with his boyhood club Boca Juniors in 2021 and is currently in his second managerial role after a previous spell at Rosario Central.

He played in the Premier League for seven years between 2006 and 2013, joining West Ham before being loaned out twice to United and moving permanently to City.

During his time at Old Trafford, Tevez won two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

After his controversial move from Manchester to City, he secured another top-flight trophy, helping them win the FA Cup.

Tevez enjoyed further success after leaving English football in 2013 to join Juventus, where he won the Serie A twice and also lifted a Coppa Italia trophy.

He scored thirteen goals in 76 games for Argentina between 2004 and 2015.
