With Advíncula and without Zambrano: the possible eleven of Boca Juniors for the Superclásico

Boca Juniors’ immediate task is to shorten the distance with the leaders of the Professional League standings and they will have the great opportunity to do so against a direct rival this weekend, when they face River Plate in the Superclásico in Argentina. According to what has been seen in the last training sessions, the coach ‘Xeneize’ plans a 4-3-1-2 scheme and only one Peruvian is emerging as a starter against River: Luis Advíncula is fixed as a right back, while Carlos Zambrano will still have to wait for his chance on the substitute bench.

The team would be as follows: Agustín Rossi; Luis Advíncula, Carlos Izquierdoz, Marcos Rojo, Frank Fabra; Diego González or Cristian Medina, Jorman Campuzano, Agustín Almendra; Edwin Cardona; Cristian Pavón and Nicolás Orsini. The base of the last matches in the tournament is maintained.

However, in the event that Sebastián Battaglia opts for a 4-3-3, the eleven would be made up of: Agustín Rossi; Luis Advíncula, Carlos Izquierdoz, Marcos Rojo, Frank Fabra; Diego González or Rodrigo Montes, Jorman Campuzano, Agustín Almendra; Cristian Pavón, Nicolás Orsini and Norberto Briasco.

The main difference in this approach is the absence of Edwin Cardona in the creative zone of the attack, while in the middle of the field González, Montes and Medina appear fighting for only one place. There are still a few days left for the coach to make the final decision.
