In the 51st edition of Caminos del Inca it was possible to confirm the evolution of the young driver André Martínez. Part of Team Tracusa Racing, he achieved third place in the general classification and won his category, the National Integral Traction (TIN).
André completed the six stages in 13:09:17 hours, 27 minutes behind the leader, and had the luxury of winning the first stage, between Lima and Huancayo aboard his Ford Fiesta N5 and with the experienced Juan Pedro Cilloniz as co-driver .
“We are satisfied with the result obtained in Caminos del Inca. We started in first place and then Nico Fuchs and Eduardo Castro passed us, who are very fast World Cup drivers. Since the third stage we have already placed third and from there our objective has been to maintain the position,” said the pilot.
Team Tracusa Racing, sponsored by the Volt brand, celebrated on the winners’ podium not only with André Martínez as leader of the TIN, but also with Jorge Martínez, who came in third place, along with his co-driver Hernán Vargas, who came from Paraguay to compete in Caminos del Inca.
It was precisely Jesús López, general manager of Aje Perú, who presented them with the awards for the positions achieved in Caminos del Inca. The Volt brand was present at each arrival, delivering energizers to each competitor.
The plans
André Martínez has evolved a lot in his management. In just his second Caminos del Inca he has already climbed onto the overall podium and now he is going for more. He seeks to repeat the national title in December, but first he will compete in a date of the Mobil Chile Rally Championship.
“In our second year we are already on the podium, and that speaks well of the growth I have as a driver. I don’t want to stay here, I want to continue growing to leave Peru high,” he tells us.
“In November we have a date for the Chilean championship and in December the national final in Ayacucho. Next year we are going to the Chilean championship too,” he tells us.
Thus, Team Tracusa Racing seeks to show its colors outside the borders, as Jorge Martínez did before in World Cup competitions.
