League 1 Betsson: Mauricio Larriera would stop being coach of Alianza Lima after losing the final

The Uruguayan coach Mauricio Larriera would stop being coach of Alianza Lima for the 2024 season of the League 1 Betsson and the Copa Libertadores. This, after losing the final of the local tournament against Universitario de Deportes.

As reported by RPP Deportes, the administration of the blue and white club will cut the contractual relationship.

As recalled, prior to the defining clash with the creams, Alianza’s sports manager, José Bellina, had ensured Larriera’s permanence no matter what happens in the final.

It seems that not only the result, but the way in which the Victorian team fell at home made the blue and white managers change their minds.

It also emerged that Larriera himself would not wish to continue at the helm of Alianza Lima, so separation or non-continuity would be by mutual agreement.

Universitario defeated Alianza Lima 3-1 (overall score), and added its 27th title.
