Venezuelan Football Federation denounces “aggressions” against its teams after the match against Peru

The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) during the match against peruvian team by Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and announced that it will initiate actions before “different competent authorities.”

Through X (formerly Twitter), the FVF stated that A selected player, whom he did not identify, ended up “injured” by “an official” when he intended to give a t-shirt to the fans, after finishing the match played in the National State.

Furthermore, he indicated that The authorities committed xenophobic and discriminatory acts against the Venezuelan players and the fansin reference to the identity and immigration status control carried out by the Police and Immigration in the surroundings of the sports venue.

“The Venezuelan Football Federation strongly condemns attacks, both verbal and physicalas well as the acts of discrimination and xenophobia suffered yesterday by our team and our fans during the match held in Lima”, he indicated.

“It is very serious that one of our players was injured by an official when approaching our fans to give them a shirt, an act that is absolutely normal and common in any football match, and that should not attract a police sanction like the one our player has suffered”he added.

“For all these reasons, immediately Our authorities will act before the different competent authorities.inside and outside of football, so that these attacks do not go unpunished”said the FVF.

The fact

The National Police of Peru and the players of the Venezuelan national team took part an incident at the end of the match in which they tied 1-1 the team led by Juan Reynoso against Vinotinto.

In the videos you can see that the Venezuelan soccer players approach the stands where their compatriots were to greet them and give them t-shirts. One of those who was able to throw his shirt was forward Salomón Rondón.

However, The Police intervened so that the other Venezuelan national teams did not repeat that action, which caused a brawl. In the midst of this situation, Nahuel Ferraresi was allegedly attacked.
