Juan Reynoso’s time as coach of the Peruvian team has ended. It’s official. After long weeks of back and forth, the Peruvian Football Federation and ‘Cabezón’ reached an agreement to break the contractual relationship that ended in December 2025.
Furthermore, in the next few hours the appointment of Jorge Fossati as the new coach of the ‘everyone’s team’ would be announced. The Uruguayan coach arrives from Universitario de Deportes, a club to which he gave the 27th star.
In charge of the ‘bicolor’ Reynoso played 14 games (eight friendlies and six in Qualifiers), where he recorded four victories (all in friendlies). Likewise, his team and the fans were barely able to celebrate just six goals (only one in official matches).
In the Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, Peru was in last position with two points in the table, thanks to the draws against Paraguay (0-0) and Venezuela (1-1).
