Markarián believes that Fossati can qualify Peru for the World Cup: “I have no doubt”

Although his official relationship has not yet been finalized, the Uruguayan Jorge Fossatiformer champion trainer with University of Sports, is very close to becoming the new technical director of the Peruvian soccer team. The only thing missing is details for the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) to announce the eastern strategist as Juan Reynoso’s replacement in the national team.

Although it is in last place in the 2026 Qualifiers with just two points out of 18 possible, The Bicolor is only three units away from the qualification positions for the world cup that will be played in Canada, United States and Mexico.

In that sense, Radio Sport 890 of Uruguay spoke with Sergio Markarianformer Bicolor coach between 2010 and 2013, to ask him his opinion on the current state of football in his country and the current situation of Fossati, who is one step away from being the new coach of Peru.

Given this, the ‘Wizard’ considered that Fossati has all the capacity to take the Bicolor to the next World Cup event.

I think Jorge (Fossati) “He is going to qualify for the World Cup because of his ability and because I also believe that in these qualifying rounds, being last but three points behind the last one that qualifies for the World Cup is not a big problem,” Indian.

“I am sure that, with Jorge’s wisdom and experience, and the work capacity of him and his coaching staff, Peru is going to be among the seven. I do not have any doubt”, he added.
