But the future of the national 9 is not assured because, according to what was reported in the Ecuadorian sports media, its continuity would depend on the permanence of coach Luis Zubeldía.

In the midst of the celebrations for the local title, the president of LDU, Isaac Álvarez, was consulted about this issue and criticized Guerrero’s position.

“That is an issue that I do not share much with. “That if he stays, I’ll stay, because it’s an institution and putting personal conditions doesn’t apply,” he said in statements to K-CH Radio.

“In any company it is very difficult to set conditions to be part of the institution. It is to love, to defend the currency, to defend the colors and to work hard, and to work with enthusiasm,” he added.

In this regard, Paolo Guerrero commented that he had received the renewal proposal from the Alba leadership, but that he had sent a counteroffer.

He did not provide details about the latter, but it is speculated that it goes beyond the economic issue.
