Gerard Piqué announces his return to football: “I miss him a lot”

Gerard Piqué, former Barcelona and Spanish national team player, announced his return to football this Tuesday via social networks. After a successful career as a footballer, it is time for the beginning of an experience, said the creator of the Kings League.

“It’s a new year and after thinking carefully I have decided to return to football. I miss him a lot“, he pointed out through the social network ‘X’.

However, he made it clear that “this time it won’t be as a player”. “It will be as a coach. I will share more details at the end of the week,” he said.

Piqué, FC Barcelona player and champion with Spain in the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012, announced his retirement as a footballer in November 2022. “Now that that child’s dreams have been fulfilled, I want to say that it is time to close this circle. I have always said that after Barça there would be no other team and that is how it will be,” he indicated in a video on his social networks.

The defender arrived at Barça when he was 10 years old, but between 2004 and 2008 he moved to Manchester United — which loaned him to Real Zaragoza in the 2006-2007 season. With the English team he won the Champions League in 2008, before returning to the club he loves.

With Barcelona, ​​Piqué has won eight Spanish League titles, seven Copas del Rey and, above all, three Champions Leagues and three Club World Cups.

He was international with the Spanish team between 2009 and 2018, being part of the champion teams of the 2010 South Africa World Cup and the 2012 Poland/Ukraine Euro Cup.

Piqué has not only occupied pages in the sports press in recent years, but also in society news due to his relationship with the Colombian singer Shakira, with whom he had two children.
