WHAT HAPPENED IN ANKALAEV AND WALKER 1
The fight at UFC 294, on October 21, 2023, ended after Ankalaev knocked Walker down and kneed him in the jaw while the latter was on the ground. The referee stopped the fight to allow Walker to recover and be treated by the doctor. Although the doctor asked him a few questions, Walker did not immediately respond. When the referee consulted the doctor about the possibility of Walker continuing, he indicated that he was not fit, leading to the decision to dismiss the fight. Security members had to intervene to separate the fighters, who wanted to continue fighting. Dana White entered the cage to calm the fighters, and when order was restored, the fight was declared a no contest after 3 minutes and 13 seconds in the first round, MMA Fighting reports.
