At a press conference as a new signing for Inter Miami, Luis Suárez was asked about the work of Jorge Fossati in his role as coach of the Peruvian team. The Uruguayan did not hesitate to praise the work of his compatriot, who could not be under his tutelage.
“Jorge (Fossati) is a coach with a lot of experience who has been doing things well in Peru and who has traveled the world with great teams, he has great experience, he took on a team that is not doing very well in the qualifying round, but he is going to motivate a lot to the selection,” he indicated.
The Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez was ambitious this Saturday regarding the future of Inter Miami, minutes after making his debut as a player for the team led by his great friend, the Argentine star Lionel Messi, in the first training session of the preseason.
“Football is always based on challenges (…) And Inter Miami showed me a nice opportunity to dream of winning the MLS, which the club never did,” said Inter’s new star signing in his first press conference in Florida .
Suárez declared himself happy to join a league that he had been thinking about since 2019 and said he “dreamed big” with the possibility of winning all the titles this season.
The striker, the Uruguayan team’s all-time leading scorer, celebrated the reunion with Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, great accomplices from his years at FC Barcelona, whom he partly blamed for his decision to sign for Inter.
