It’s not just love of sport. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced that it will pay a record prize to the players of its under-23 team that is competing in the Pre-Olympic Championship if they qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The prize will be distributed among athletes and members of the technical command , the CBF reported in a statement.
Ednaldo Rodrigues, head of the institution, announced before the start of the contest that he will allocate nearly 10 million reais to the delegation to win one of the places that are at stake in Venezuela.
The distribution contemplates paying almost 7 million reais for the classification to the players. With this, “each player will be entitled to 60 thousand dollars, equivalent to almost 300,000 reais.
The prize is 35% higher than what was offered in the last edition of the contest in 2020 (50 thousand dollars per player), highlighted the CBF.
“This record award is the result of the planning we carry out here in the Selections Department, aligned with the guidelines of President Ednaldo Rodrigues’ management,” said Claudia Faria, general manager of selections at the CBF.
