2026 Qualifiers: Ricardo Gareca would have an agreement with the Chilean team, according to Argentine media

by reaching an agreement with the leaders of the southern country, according to the ESPN network.

If this information is confirmed, Gareca will replace Eduardo Berizzo and will face the remainder of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers and the Copa América 2024.

Precisely, Chile’s first rival in the Copa América will be Perua team in which Gareca left his mark by qualifying them for a World Cup after 36 years and taking them to a playoff.

Gareca stopped directing the Peruvian team after failing to reach an economic agreement with the leaders of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) for the renewal of his contract, which concluded after losing the playoff against Australia.
