The season is just days away from starting and Alianza Lima sought to reduce the sanction that currently weighs on the Alejandro Villanueva stadium for the blackout in the League 1 final against Universitario de Deportes.
This Thursday, January 25, the Appeals Commission of the Peruvian Football Federation ratified the punishment on Matute, where the ‘intimate’ club will not be able to play in the local tournament for a period of seven months.
“Declare unfounded the appeal filed by the Alianza Lima Club against Resolution No. 128-CD-FPF-2023,” the statement reads.
In this way, it is confirmed that the match between Alianza Lima against Universidad César Vallejo for the first date of the Apertura Tournament will be played at the National Stadium.
It should be noted that this sanction only includes the local championship; Therefore, those led by Alejandro Restrepo will be able to play in the Copa Libertadores in La Victoria.
