After Cruz Azul’s victory: Miguel Herrera and Iván Alonso engage in a tough confrontation in the locker room

This Tuesday, January 30, 2024, Cruz Azul defeated Tijuana 1-0 on matchday 4 of the Liga MX Clausura Tournament. At the end of the match, in the hallways of the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium, Iván Alonso vehemently confronted Miguel Herrera.

The sports director of the ‘Cement Machine’ confronted ‘Piojo’ and he did not remain silent. The scene was recorded on video and later shared on social networks. Although the conflict did not escalate, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) will investigate the case and take action on the matter.

The response to Alonso’s actions would have its genesis in a controversial statement by Herrera that did not go down well in the interim of Cruz Azul.

“They bring a f***ing coach, sorry for the fucking thing, who is playing right now in South America, Independiente del Valle, and he says: ‘yes I’m going, but allow me because right now I’m playing,'” he mentioned.
