Oliver Sonne on being a starter in the national team: “There are opportunities, although I know it will take time”

The Danish Peruvian defender Oliver Sonne spoke with the newspaper Depor and commented on his experience with the peruvian teamdespite not debuting, so far, with the red and white.

“Despite the language barrier, they made the effort to speak in English, and I, in turn, try to understand a little Spanish and also express myself in that language,” he said in statements to the aforementioned media.

On the other hand, and with a new technical command led by Jorge Fossati, Sonne was consulted about the possibility of starting in the next games he faces with the national shirt.

“I think there are opportunities to achieve this, although I know it will take time. Patience is key, especially considering the high level of our players,” he explained.

“I have great respect for the team, but I definitely look forward to being on the field showing my quality. “I am convinced that I can contribute with positive aspects, so I hope there is room for me in Peru’s starting eleven,” he added.

Finally, he did not want to delve into the issue of Juan Reynoso’s departure due to the poor results at the beginning of the Qualifiers.

“I would prefer not to go into details about it. What I can say is that he was a great guy and a great coach, that he had his own ideas and that he tried to do everything that was good for the team,” Sonne said.
