The Peruvian athlete Luz Mery Rojas qualified for the Olympic Games Paris 2024after surpassing the minimum mark required in the Seville Marathon in Spain.
With a time of 2h 26m 47s, the 30-year-old athlete finished the competition in 20th place in the women’s category, and will make her official debut at the Olympic event.
Rojas won the gold medal in the 10,000 meters event at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
In this way, she becomes the fourth representative of the national marathon to secure her place at the world’s largest multi-sport event, after Gladys Tejeda, Jovana de la Cruz and Cristhian Pacheco.

Rojas is the eighth athlete to obtain her pass to Paris 2024 and the 14th athlete to join the national delegation.
