Valentino Salinas and Joao Velásquez are the new 2024 national champions of fronton paddle

Valentino Salinas, just 11 years old, and Joao Velásquez, were crowned national paddle tennis champions after making a difference in the National Circuit of Paleta Frontón TCN 200 Tumbes 2024, which featured the participation of players from all over the country.

The youngest champion was Valentino Salinas (11), who triumphed in the category U-12 Boys Singleswhile Joao Velasquez imposed conditions on the category Superior Male Singles. Both are representatives of La Alameda & Hacienda Club de Lima.

Valentino Salinas defeated competitors from Lima, Trujillo and Tumbes. In the grand final he won with partials of 16-14, 13-15 and 15-12.

Joao Velásquez won the title after winning a five-set final with sets of 15-10, 12-15, 15-04, 08-15 and 15-13.

“I am very excited about this victory, I prepared myself with a lot of love for the sport and to achieve my goals. Tumbes welcomed us with a lot of sun but also with a lot of fronton. We have played with the heat and even with the rain; but I had a lot of fun. I want to thank my dad because he always supports and accompanies me, my coach Joao Velásquez, my club La Alameda & Hacienda and all my friends from the Las Malvinas public court in Surco with whom we always play and I learn a lot from them.”said Valentino Salinas.

The champions returned to their training in Lima and continue preparing for the following national tournaments. Chincha, Chiclayo and Ilo, where they will seek to continue adding points and repeat the dish.
