Against violence in Peruvian football: Universitario will meet at the PCM and invited Alianza Lima and FPF

The terrible acts of violence that we witnessed last Saturday, February 24 in Santa Anita, prior to the duel between Universitario de Deportes and Melgar for League 1 Te Apuesta, had repercussions at the national level and raised, once again, the measures that must be taken take to eradicate these episodes.

A source from Universitario told El Comercio that a meeting with the Executive Branch was requested to discuss the problem. Initially Jean Ferrari will meet with Prime Minister Alberto Otárola this Tuesday, February 20, but the imitation spread to Alianza Lima and the Peruvian Football Federation.

Furthermore, this Monday, February 19, Dina Boluarte, president of Peru, referred to the tragic shooting that left more than one person seriously injured, condemned these actions and urged the clubs to take action on the matter.

“We will take all the necessary precautions for the next sporting events and we are analyzing whether the next one will be behind closed doors without the public in attendance,” he indicated.
