League 3: learn about the new tournament that will include teams from the Peru Cup and affiliates of League 1 clubs

The Peruvian Football Federation announced that in 2025 a new tournament will be held that will bring together many teams from the Peru Cupand which will be called League 3.

This new tournament will have 32 participants, of which 25 of them will arrive from the Peru Cup 2024, being the champion or runner-up of each department of the country.

They will be joined by 6 teams from the affiliates of Liga 1 Te Apuesta clubs. To do this, the first six teams in the 2024 Reserve Tournament will be considered.

It should be noted that these last teams mentioned can only be promoted to League 2 at most.

In addition, the club that is relegated from League 2 in 2024 will play in this new tournament.

The teams will be divided into groups according to regions. Besides. The champion and runner-up of the first edition of this tournament will be promoted to League 2 in 2026.

Likewise, the teams that occupy the last places will lose their category and will play in the Departmental Stage of the 2026 Peru Cup.
