Professionalism weighs more than “morbidity,” said Ricardo Gareca in a recent interview in Chile when asked about his past with the Peruvian team, clarifying that he has a clear conscience and is grateful to Peru.
“I don’t go into morbidity because I am clear about what Peru represented for me at a certain moment. We did it with all the professionalism. I will never stop being grateful and now I am focused on the Chilean team,” declared the current coach of ‘La Roja’, who will officially debut against Bicolor in the Copa América, something difficult to imagine a few years ago.
“I accept this challenge because I believe in the Chilean player, not only do I believe, I have great admiration for having faced them and suffered many years ago, as a coach and as a player. I know how difficult and competitive it is. I like challenge and I don’t see the other side,” added Gareca in dialogue with DirecTV.
