Peruvian national team: when will Fossati’s squad list for Bicolor friendlies be known?

The peruvian team will be active at the end of this month when it faces Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in two FIFA friendly matches, which will mark the debut of the Uruguayan coach Jorge Fossati as strategist of the national squad.

The matches will be held in Lima on Friday the 22nd and the Tuesday 26 in the stadium Matute and in the Monumentalrespectively.

Both commitments will serve as preparation for what will be the participation of Blanquirroja in the Copa America 2024 and in the restart of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

As El Comercio learned, the list of those called up – from the local and foreign media – for both games would be announced on Monday, March 11.

This will be the first list of summoned Jorge Fossati as coach of the Bicolor, since he was officially presented as the new national strategist on January 10, days after the departure of the previous coach, the Peruvian, was finalized. Juan Reynoso.

The Peruvian team is in last place in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup with just two points out of 18 possible.

Although the competition towards the World Cup will resume in September, the Bicolor will begin its preparation for what will be its participation in the Copa América 2024, to be played between June and July in the United States.

Peru is part of Group A along with Argentina, Chile and the fifth Concacaf team, which will emerge from the winner of the duel between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.
